Start with a name or a profile link the person has shared. If several results look similar, a city, school, workplace, or mutual connection can help you narrow the list.

Search on Facebook

Search the person’s name and look at the people results. Use the filters available in your version of Facebook, then open the profiles that fit the details you already know.

A public link on the person’s own website or another account can be a quicker route than searching a common name.

Look through a connection you already have

If you share a community, check its public posts or member information. A tagged post, event discussion, or mutual friend’s visible connections may lead to the account.

Keep the account link once you find it. A display name is harder to return to than a saved profile address.

Search for a name within Facebook’s domain:

site:facebook.com "John Doe" "New York"

Replace the example with the name and a detail you already know. Web search results only cover pages the search engine can show; open the page to see what is currently available.

If the account does not appear
