Before sharing a contract or account access with a LinkedIn partnership contact, confirm that the person represents the company they name.

Check the company connection

  1. Compare the profile’s roles and employment dates with the company’s team pages and the person’s other established work profiles.
  2. Find the company website independently and compare its domain with the sender’s email and intake-form links.
  3. Ask an established company contact to confirm the offer and the sender’s role.
  4. Review prior posts and work connections for context, especially when the profile claims a long career but has little visible activity.
  5. Pause requests for processing fees, immediate signatures or account access before the company confirms the offer.

What to include in a report

  • The profile URL and screenshots of the claimed role.
  • The offer, fee request or intake form, including its destination domain.
  • Company contact details and public references that conflict with the claim.
