Choose the Username filter, not a story keyword

The official username-search instructions give a specific route:

1. Open the search icon in the site's top navigation.
2. Expand Advanced in the search filters.
3. Enter the public name in Username, then choose Go or press Enter.

Use those instructions when you know the account name. A story title, genre, or phrase is a different starting point and can return material unrelated to the author you meant. If access requires login or age assurance, follow the site's requirements; this guide does not provide a way around them.

A new pen name can appear on older activity

LushStories' rename guidance says a username change updates references to the old name throughout the site. It also explicitly says the change does not hide earlier activity.

This matters when an old bookmark or remembered byline does not match what you see now. The newer name on an older contribution is not, by itself, evidence of a copied account. Look for a current author-published link or a public rename announcement before deciding what happened. The help does not establish what every old URL will do, so do not assume an old address will always redirect.

Online visibility is a setting, not an activity verdict

The privacy-options guide lists controls for appearing online on the homepage, displaying friends, and allowing profile comments. It also describes controls over who can contact a member.

An absent online indicator or hidden friend list therefore cannot establish that a profile is abandoned. Respect those choices. Do not use another account to get around a block or contact restriction.

Confirm a public author link without identifying the person behind it

For a suspected copycat, record the candidate profile address and the author's established public link. Explain the specific discrepancy, such as an unfamiliar destination linked from the candidate. Similar story themes or writing style alone are not enough to accuse someone of impersonation.

A pen name may deliberately be separate from a legal name or personal social account. A useful check confirms the public account the author wants readers to find; it does not expose the person behind the pseudonym.
