About TradingView profiles
How TradingView usernames work
A TradingView username is the public identity attached to everything a member publishes: it appears in the profile address shown above and as the author of their ideas, scripts and comments. When someone asks for your TradingView ID so they can follow you or share a script, the username in that profile address is what they need. The username can be changed twice through Settings and billing, then Public profile.
Typical profile URL: https://www.tradingview.com/u/<handle>/
Tips for finding accounts
Follow the author link on an idea or script. Usernames use English letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens; spaces belong to a displayed name rather than the username.
Profile visibility
A TradingView profile shows published activity, not a trading record you can audit. Private ideas and scripts do not appear on the profile or in community feeds, although anyone with the direct link can open them. ProfileTrace includes TradingView among the ~4,000 sites it checks for an exact username, but it only sees public pages and does not assess anyone's trading performance.
More about TradingView
What this service is
TradingView is a charting platform with a social network for traders, where members publish trade ideas and Pine Script indicators and strategies. Public ideas and scripts show up on the author's profile, in community feeds and public libraries, and can be indexed by search engines, which is why a username often turns up in web search next to chart analysis.
Username and URL behavior
Each TradingView user can change their username twice, a limit TradingView sets to avoid social manipulation or confusion. The new name must not be taken, must not include admin, moderator or tradingview, must follow the House Rules, and can use only English letters, numbers, underscores and hyphens. Change it under Settings and billing, Public profile. Source: TradingView Help: I'd like to change my username.
Links and account details
The strongest TradingView signal is the idea history. Once an idea or script is published publicly it cannot be switched to private, and public ideas can only be edited for 15 minutes after publishing, so the ideas tab keeps losing calls as well as winning ones. Compare the dates and outcomes of past ideas with any performance someone claims.
Common impersonation pattern
TradingView's House Rules ban duplicate and fake accounts, all solicitation for money, and links or contact details for outside websites, messaging apps, email or wallets. An account that asks you to pay, join a private group or message it elsewhere is breaking the rules whatever its username. TradingView also says it never asks for sensitive information by email or sends users to outside payment sites.
How to report a concern
Use the Report button next to any idea, script, comment or message that breaks the House Rules, or send a private message to one of TradingView's moderators, as explained in How do I inform moderators about a violation. If you lost money to a user, TradingView will not share their details with you; file a police report, and authorities can contact security@tradingview.com.
TradingView Verification Checklist
Check the profile
- Open tradingview.com/u/username with the exact username and save the address.
- Check that the idea or script that led you here lists the same username as author.
- Look at how long the account has been publishing and whether the topics match its claims.
- Remember the username may have changed up to twice, so old mentions may use an earlier name.
What to do with the results
- Keep the tradingview.com/u/ address and the date of your review.
- Keep links to specific ideas, because public ideas cannot be made private later.
- Look up the handle on other public sites and note any that advertise paid groups or signals under the same name.
- Recheck the profile if the username changes, since each user gets two changes.
Checks and reporting on TradingView
Signs of a copied account
- Requests for payment, deposits or fundraising anywhere on the platform.
- Messages steering you to messaging apps, email or outside payment sites.
- Profiles whose history shows only recent winning calls or very little published activity.
- Accounts that look like official TradingView support.
Check the account
- Review published ideas in date order, including the ones that did not work out.
- Treat private invitations, paid signal offers or off-site contact details as rule violations, not credentials.
- Check whether the trader's own website or other public profiles link to this exact TradingView username.
- Be wary of names built around TradingView or support wording; TradingView bars admin, moderator and tradingview in usernames.
Report a copied account
- Save the profile URL, the idea or message links and screenshots of any payment or contact requests.
- Use the Report button on the idea, script, comment or message.
- Message a TradingView moderator if the problem is an account rather than a single post.
- If money was lost, report to the police; TradingView cooperates with formal requests sent to security@tradingview.com, per TradingView Help.

Questions about TradingView
How do I find my TradingView username if I cannot sign in?
Use the I forgot password or can't sign in button in the sign-in dialog and enter your sign-up email or verified phone number. TradingView says account recovery is available in the browser version, not the mobile apps.
