About Vero profiles

How Vero usernames work

A Vero account has a username and a separate name shown on the profile. The username forms the public web address shown above and is what members copy when they share their profile URL, while the name can be edited at any time from Edit Profile (verified members must ask support to change it). If Webview is off, the address does not show the member's posts even though the account exists.

Typical profile URL: https://vero.co/<handle>

Tips for finding accounts

Vero’s app search finds members, hashtags, and discovery tags. A member can share their public Webview link from the app.

Profile visibility

Vero is built around audience control. Public follower posts can be viewed by anyone on Vero, but Close Friends, Friends and Acquaintances posts stay within those connections, and members never learn which circle someone put them in. Turning off Allow People to Follow Me stops public posting and turns off Webview. ProfileTrace includes Vero among the ~4,000 sites it checks for an exact username, but it only sees what Webview makes public.

More about Vero

What this service is

Vero is a social network that organizes relationships into Loops. Connections are two-way and come in three levels, Close Friends, Friends and Acquaintances, while Following is one-way and makes someone part of a member's public audience. Vero asks for a phone number at registration to confirm that a person, not a bot, is signing up.

Username and URL behavior

Vero's usernames and profile names must follow its Community Guidelines, which bar names used to impersonate Vero, its staff, or any individual, group or organization. The help center explains how to change your name, email and phone number, but does not describe a self-service username change, so treat the username as the stable part of a profile. Links and account details

Look at the public follower posts available through Webview, the bio and discovery tags the member chose, and any verified badge. Vero verification requires proof of identity through its provider Yoti: an individual's full name on Vero must match the first and last name format on their ID, and a brand must show a connection between a valid ID and the brand plus documents showing how the brand is used. See Vero Help: Verify an account.

Common impersonation pattern

Vero's Community Guidelines prohibit accounts that impersonate or pretend to be a business, organization, public figure or private individual. Because much of a genuine member's activity sits inside private Loops, an impostor can look plausible from the outside with only a copied avatar and bio, which is why the verified badge and cross-links matter.

How to report a concern

To report a member, open their profile, tap the three-dot menu in the top right and choose Report this user; blocking is in the same menu. Report a single post from the three-dot menu on the post. For anything else, go to Settings, Help and Support, Contact Support in the app, or email support@vero.co, as set out in the VERO Community Guidelines.

Vero Verification Checklist

Check the profile

  • Open vero.co/username with the exact username and note whether public posts appear.
  • If nothing shows, remember the member may have turned off Webview rather than deleted the account.
  • Compare the username in the link the person shared with the one you found in search.
  • Check for a verified badge before trusting a claim to be a brand or public figure.

What to do with the results

  • Save the vero.co address, whether Webview was on, and the date.
  • Note whether a verified badge was present when you checked.
  • Look for the same handle on other photo, music or social sites and compare what the person shares there.
  • Recheck later, since a member can turn Webview off or change their profile name.

Checks and reporting on Vero

Signs of a copied account

  • Unverified accounts using a brand's or public figure's name.
  • A new profile with copied photos that asks for money or contact details.
  • Usernames that differ from the real account by one character.
  • Connect requests from strangers who claim to know you but share no mutual history.

Check the account

  • For verified accounts, the profile name should match the person's real first and last name, because Vero checks it against ID.
  • Look for the same vero.co link on the person's website or other public profiles.
  • Compare public posts over time with the person's known interests and discovery tags.
  • Remember that avatars can differ by connection circle, so a mismatched picture is not proof of a fake.

Report a copied account

  1. Save the profile URL, username and screenshots of the posts or messages involved.
  2. Use the three-dot menu on the profile and tap Report this user.
  3. Block the member from the same menu if contact continues.
  4. Contact Vero support in the app or at support@vero.co with the evidence.

Questions about Vero

How does Vero verify accounts?

Vero requires proof of identity through its provider Yoti. An individual's full name must match the first and last name format on their ID, and brands must show how their ID connects to the brand and provide business documentation.
