Find a LinuxFr.org Account Behind a Post
Distinguish the account identifier from the name displayed on its contributions.

Which LinuxFr.org name should I use to find an account?
Follow the author link on the LinuxFr.org contribution. The account identifier is unique and forms part of the account’s address; the displayed name can differ, so copying that name alone can lead you away from the intended account.
Keep the account link
LinuxFr.org’s help page distinguishes a unique account identifier from the displayed name. Open the author link from the article or comment you mean, then keep the account URL with that contribution.
Why an old name may no longer appear
The help page explains that closing an account with anonymisation can replace attribution with “Anonyme”. A missing old name therefore cannot tell you who is currently using a similar name elsewhere.
If you own the account and need it closed or anonymised, follow LinuxFr.org’s administration guidance. Searching for the old display name is a different task from managing your account.

Check a public handle across sites
You can separately check a public handle across supported sites. Compare results with a link the account owner has shared; a matching name alone does not confirm ownership.
