Find a Mamot Profile Beyond the Directory

Find an intended Mamot account while respecting directory choices and private posts.

Does Mamot’s profile directory list every account?

No. Mastodon profile directories are opt-in. If you have a Mamot contact’s published profile link, use that directly rather than treating a missing directory listing as a missing account.

Start with the link they shared

Use the Mamot link from your contact’s website or established public account. Confirm the mamot.fr server and the account address, not just the display name. A copied avatar can appear on an unrelated profile.

Directory visibility is optional

Mastodon’s profile documentation says accounts opt into the profile directory. It also distinguishes a locked account, whose new followers need approval. Neither choice grants a public lookup tool access to restricted posts.

Confirm a website connection

If the profile links to a website you already trust, compare that website’s published Mamot link. A reciprocal link is more useful than finding the same short name on two services.

Check a public handle across sites

Check only public handles across supported sites. Compare results with links the account owner has chosen to share; a matching name alone does not confirm who owns an account.
