Find an mstdn.social Account After a Move
Follow an account’s published move without assuming its old posts moved too.

What does a moved Mastodon profile mean?
A Mastodon account can display a notice pointing to a new account. If an old mstdn.social profile shows one, inspect the new destination and confirm it against the owner’s current public links before updating your saved address.
Read the old profile’s notice
Start with the mstdn.social address you previously saved. Mastodon’s moving-account documentation explains that a redirected profile can show its new account. Keep the full server address when comparing the destination with the owner’s current website or bio.
Old posts are a separate record
The documentation says a profile move does not transfer the account’s posts. A new account without an old conversation is not, by itself, evidence that you reached the wrong destination.
A new matching name is not a move notice
Do not substitute a search result with the same display name for a published account move. Ask the owner for their current link when the old address is unavailable or there is no clear connection.

Check a public handle across sites
Check only public handles across supported sites. Compare results with links the account owner has chosen to share; a matching name alone does not confirm who owns an account.
First search free. Signup keeps your username ready; you choose when to search. Public profiles only—no private or paywalled content.
