Public-profile guide
Find the Right Microsoft Learn Profile
Ask for the person’s current Microsoft Learn profile link. Learn distinguishes the display name from the unique username in the public profile address. The old MSDN root now opens Microsoft Learn, but that redirect does not establish where an individual old account moved.

Get your current profile address
In Microsoft Learn, select your profile icon and open Settings. Under Personal info, username, and URL, you can review or change the public profile URL. Copy the current profile link when you want to share your achievements or contributions.
Display names can match
Microsoft’s profile guidance distinguishes the unique Learn username from the display name shown on a profile. When two people use similar display names, ask for the exact profile link rather than guessing from the name.
What an old MSDN link tells you
The old MSDN root opens Microsoft Learn. That root-level redirect does not confirm an individual account’s current address. Ask the account owner for their Learn link if an old reference no longer reaches them.
Learn also offers Private Mode, which hides profile information from public view. An unavailable public profile is not proof that someone has no Learn account or credentials.

Check a public handle across sites
You can separately check a public handle across supported sites. Compare results with a profile link the owner has shared; matching names alone do not confirm ownership.
